This artwork by Abraham Hulk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. In the Home & Interiors Collections auction, the work Ships at dusk 24 x 42 1/8in (61 x 107cm) sold for USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,907.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Hulk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch Barges In A Calm, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 50,650.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abraham Hulk erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Home & Interiors Collections wurde die Arbeit Ships at dusk 24 x 42 1/8in (61 x 107cm) für USD 14.080,00 (€ 12.907,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Abraham Hulk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dutch Barges In A Calm beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 50.650,00 versteigert wurde.
