This artwork by Abraham de Vries achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I auction, the work Portrait of Jacques Boyceau (1560-1633) sold for EUR 170,100.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 60,000.00. This high result makes Portrait of Jacques Boyceau (1560-1633) the most expensive artwork by Abraham de Vries that we have observed at auctions so far.
