This artwork by Abraham Cooper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. In the Sporting Art auction, the work British Thomas Rounding, Esq. On His Favorite Hunter Spankaway With Gladsome, Governess And Syren, Staghounds Of The Epping Forest Hunt sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,510.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Abraham Cooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Daniel Haigh, Master Of The Old Surrey And Burstow Hunt On His Horse Kitten in June 2008 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 35,718.82).
