Switzerland yet hasn't seen a solo show by Katharina Grosse that focuses solely on her studio works: The exhibition Katharina Grosse Studio Paintings, 1988-2022 at the Kunstmuseum Bern will change that as from 3 March. The public will experience at first hand what colour means to the artist.
Over the past 34 years, Grosse has been playing with its physics, sensoriality and symbolism, transforming large-format canvases into colourfully stunning paintings. A selection of 42 of these works from more than three decades is brought together by the Bern Museum in this solo show. It was organized in collaboration with the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum (Washington University in St. Louis, USA). The exhibition is open until 25 June.
