POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair 2021

»Flughafen Tempelhof Hangar 5-6« has become firmly associated with the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair, an art fair that has received outstanding reviews in recent years. The ninth edition takes place from 15 to 18 September and presents 88 galleries from 20 countries. Visitors can experience the latest developments and positions in contemporary art in a unique setting in the large hangar halls, the covered open space and the airfield. POSITIONS is the official partner of the parallel Berlin Art Week.

This year, too, the fair convinces with an interesting supporting programme. For the first time, it will present the Zilkens Best Booth Award for the best gallery presentation and present a curated NFT exhibition as well as the Selected POSITIONS with small-format artworks costing less than 1900 euros. In Hangar 5, the organisers are showing works by the US artist Boris Lurie (1924-2008) in a special exhibition. Originally from Riga, Lurie's life was marked by his time in various concentration camps. In 1959, he co-founded the NOart! movement as an antithesis to Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. Lurie criticised the fact that art increasingly served as an escape from reality and was thought of commercially.Art.Salon
