Something is stirring in contemporary art. It is more lively and versatile than it has been for a long time - serious, cheerful, playful and rigorous, testing all media in the search for a zeitgeisty aesthetic and finding new forms of expression for the unspeakable. In our exhibition 24 für 24 we would like to give a small insight into this diversity of contemporary art. On display are radically reduced drawings that only reveal their opulence at second glance, alongside striking scenes in candy colors that unfold abysses on closer inspection. You can find yourself in figurative everyday scenes and immerse in surreal dream worlds, follow the associative impulses of abstract compositions and listen to the speechless informal.

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
