The work Seven-Character Couplet in Running Script by Zuo Zongtang was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 176,400.00 (€ 20,411.50), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zuo Zongtang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet in Running Script von Zuo Zongtang wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 176.400,00 (€ 20.411,50) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
