The work Calligraphic Couplet by Zuo Zongtang was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 26,426.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Zuo Zongtang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).

Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Zuo Zongtang wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 26.426,93) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
