Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work Calligraphic Couplet by Zuo Zongtang for HKD 85,000.00 (€ 10,186.02). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 120,000.00 – 200,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zuo Zongtang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Zuo Zongtang für HKD 85.000,00 (€ 10.186,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
