This artwork by Zuo Zongtang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Running Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 94,207.01) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zuo Zongtang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Running Script, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zuo Zongtang erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 94.207,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script beobachtet, die im September 2014 für USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46) versteigert wurde.
