Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Letters by Zuo Zongtang was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,677.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zuo Zongtang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Letters von Zuo Zongtang kam im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.677,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 45.000,00 – 65.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
