The work Letters by Zuo Zongtang was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,898.16), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zuo Zongtang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).

Die Arbeit Letters von Zuo Zongtang wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 43.898,16) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
