The work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Zuo Zongtang was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,005.60), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zuo Zongtang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Zuo Zongtang wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.005,60) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
