The work Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script by Zuo Zongtang was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. It achieved a price of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,273.32), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zuo Zongtang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script von Zuo Zongtang kam im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.273,32) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
