This artwork by Zou Yigui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Peony sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,127.98) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zou Yigui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 394,000.00 (€ 350,596.19).
