A top price for Zhuang Yan
This artwork by Zhuang Yan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Kaishu sold for HKD 72,500.00 (€ 8,252.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy In Kaishu the most expensive artwork by Zhuang Yan that we have observed at auctions so far.
