Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu by Zhu Zumou was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,784.25). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhu Zumou; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Poems sold at auction in April 2014 with the realized price of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 20,926.46).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu von Zhu Zumou im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 187.500,00 (€ 19.784,25) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhu Zumou; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Poems im April 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 20.926,46).
