Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work China China by Zhu Wei was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 380,000.00 – 550,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,574.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhu Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ink And Wash Research Lectures Series in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 7,475,000.00 (€ 709,338.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit China China von Zhu Wei im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 380.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.574,63) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhu Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ink And Wash Research Lectures Series im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.475.000,00 (€ 709.338,68).
