Hanging scroll, ink and color on paper, inscribed and signed by the artist Xiushui Zhou Xian cunbo, dated guiyou, with one artist's seal reading Fanhu jushi Zhou Xian zhi yin, and two collector's seals.

Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Rock, Cypress and Chrysanthemum, 1873 by Zhou Xian for USD 5,355.00 (€ 4,827.37). This price was achieved in the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Zhou Xian have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2017 by the work Six Circular Fans at HKD 70,800.00 (€ 7,792.38).

Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rock, Cypress and Chrysanthemum, 1873 von Zhou Xian für USD 5.355,00 (€ 4.827,37) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Zhou Xian wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2017 die Arbeit Six Circular Fans mit HKD 70.800,00 (€ 7.792,38).
