Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Gourd by Zhou Xian. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 25,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 29,500.00 (€ 3,347.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Xian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Six Circular Fans, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 70,800.00 (€ 7,792.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gourd von Zhou Xian zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 29.500,00 (€ 3.347,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhou Xian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Six Circular Fans beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 70.800,00 (€ 7.792,38) versteigert wurde.
