Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Zhou Tiehai could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Escalator changed hands for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 7,093.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Tiehai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Will/We Must (Set Of 15 Works) in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 4,840,000.00 (€ 498,292.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Tiehai konnte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wechselte die Arbeit Escalator für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 7.093,11) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Tiehai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Will/We Must (Set Of 15 Works) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.840.000,00 (€ 498.292,10).
