In September 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong, which included the work Two Thousand Years Embroidery No.8 by Zheng Guogu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,600.00 (€ 8,322.58), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zheng Guogu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waterfall in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 560,000.00 (€ 58,337.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Thousand Years Embroidery No.8 von Zheng Guogu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.600,00 (€ 8.322,58) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zheng Guogu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waterfall im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 560.000,00 (€ 58.337,11).
