In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Ink Art : Journey, which included the work Three Surfaces by Zheng Chongbin. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 300,000.00 (€ 35,303.78), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zheng Chongbin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Definitions 001, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 77,457.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Ink Art : Journey durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Surfaces von Zheng Chongbin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 35.303,78) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zheng Chongbin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four Definitions 001 beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 77.457,17) versteigert wurde.
