Hanging scroll, ink and color on paper, inscribed by the artist with poem, with second inscription by the artist with a dedication and date of wuzi, with two artist's seals Xianfu and Zhao Zhichen yin, and two collectors' seals, one reading Wulin Du Jianqing Ping'an cang jinshi shuhua yin.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Landscape, 1828 by Zhao Zhichen was sold in the The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part IV auction at Bonhams in New York in March last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,769.67), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhao Zhichen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Couplet In Clerical Script, which sold at auction in September 2013 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,164.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Landscape, 1828 von Zhao Zhichen wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part IV bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 9.769,67) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhao Zhichen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Couplet In Clerical Script beobachtet, die im September 2013 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 22.164,76) versteigert wurde.
