Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Zhang Zhiwan could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Landscape changed hands for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,115.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhang Zhiwan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,446.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Zhiwan konnte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Landscape für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.115,25) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Zhiwan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.446,17).
