This artwork by Zhang Zhiwan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Regular Script sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,073.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Zhiwan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,446.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Zhiwan erzielte im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.073,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Zhiwan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.446,17) versteigert wurde.
