The work Calligraphy Couplet by Zhang Zhengyu was sold in the Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in August 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 11,970.00 (€ 1,303.51), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhang Zhengyu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 12,000.00 (€ 12,254.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet von Zhang Zhengyu wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 11.970,00 (€ 1.303,51) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Zhengyu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.000,00 (€ 12.254,35).
