A top price for Zhang Xueliang
When the work Calligraphic Couplet by Zhang Xueliang was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 30,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 32 times as high at HKD 980,000.00 (€ 96,827.25). This high result makes Calligraphic Couplet the most expensive artwork by Zhang Xueliang that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Zhang Xueliang
Als die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Zhang Xueliang im November 2010 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 30.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 980.000,00 (€ 96.827,25) mehr als 32-mal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Calligraphic Couplet zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Zhang Xueliang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
