Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Tiger by Zhang Shanzi. The price achieved of HKD 126,000.00 (€ 15,099.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Shanzi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prowling Tiger in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 4,220,000.00 (€ 403,712.18).
