Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Landscape 山水 by Zhang Ruitu was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 80,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 403,200.00 (€ 44,850.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Ruitu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eighteen Luohan in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,230,000.00 (€ 1,984,338.85).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Landscape 山水 von Zhang Ruitu im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 80.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 403.200,00 (€ 44.850,42) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Ruitu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eighteen Luohan im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.230.000,00 (€ 1.984.338,85).
