The work Calligraphy in Cursive Script by Zhang Ruitu was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. It achieved a price of HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 174,955.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Ruitu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eighteen Luohan in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,230,000.00 (€ 1,984,338.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script von Zhang Ruitu wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 1.512.000,00 (€ 174.955,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Ruitu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eighteen Luohan im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.230.000,00 (€ 1.984.338,85).
