This artwork by Zhang Li achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2007. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work Shepherd sold for USD 180,000.00 (€ 134,589.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. This high result makes Shepherd the most expensive artwork by Zhang Li that we have observed at auctions so far.
