Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ai Ni Girl With Headdress by Zhang Li was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art auction at Sothebys in Beijing in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CNY 220,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of CNY 236,000.00 (€ 34,128.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Li - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shepherd, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 180,000.00 (€ 134,589.50).
