This artwork by Zhang Jian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August this year. In the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script sold for HKD 52,920.00 (€ 6,225.02) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00.
