It achieved a price of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,391.00), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Jian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reflection of Moon in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,437,500.00 (€ 147,994.81).

Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script von Zhang Jian wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.391,00) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Jian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reflection of Moon im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.437.500,00 (€ 147.994,81).
