Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Zhang Guchu could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection auction, the work Landscapes changed hands for HKD 4,032.00 (€ 466.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Guchu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recluse By The Spring Bamboo in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,557.07).
