This artwork by Zeng Xi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2020. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Wuxi Creek Scenery sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,793.34) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zeng Xi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in October 2019 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,861.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zeng Xi erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Wuxi Creek Scenery für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.793,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zeng Xi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.861,95) versteigert wurde.
