Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zeng Xi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet sold for HKD 163,800.00 (€ 19,446.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zeng Xi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in October 2019 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,861.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zeng Xi erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet für HKD 163.800,00 (€ 19.446,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zeng Xi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.861,95) versteigert wurde.
