This artwork by Yu Sheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2004. In the FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY auction, the work Birds After Huang Jucai (933-?) sold for HKD 2,751,750.00 (€ 277,204.38) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. This high result makes Birds After Huang Jucai (933-?) the most expensive artwork by Yu Sheng that we have observed at auctions so far.
