Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu by Yu Sheng was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,131.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yu Sheng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birds After Huang Jucai (933-?) in October 2004 with an auction result of HKD 2,751,750.00 (€ 277,204.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu von Yu Sheng wurde im April 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 35.000,00 (€ 4.131,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yu Sheng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birds After Huang Jucai (933-?) im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.751.750,00 (€ 277.204,38).
