Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Yong Xing was sold in the The Chew Family Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,261.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yong Xing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy After The Chunhua Ge Tie in November 2005 with an auction result of HKD 2,584,000.00 (€ 282,727.74).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Yong Xing wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion The Chew Family Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.261,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yong Xing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy After The Chunhua Ge Tie im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.584.000,00 (€ 282.727,74).
