In July 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work Lumahlumah The Big Maraian Cult Hero by Yirawala. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 13,200.00 (€ 7,473.34), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yirawala - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Male And Female Kangaroos c.1965, which sold at auction in July 2020 for AUD 31,720.00 (€ 26,940.72).

Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lumahlumah The Big Maraian Cult Hero von Yirawala zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 13.200,00 (€ 7.473,34) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Yirawala mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Male And Female Kangaroos c.1965 beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für AUD 31.720,00 (€ 26.940,72) versteigert wurde.
