Sold at the upper estimate price
In March 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FIRST OPEN | Hong Kong, which included the work The Orang Besar Series - Kain Panjang with Petulant Kepala by Yee I-Lann. The auction ended at the price of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 6,015.14), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yee I-Lann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kinabalu Series: Huminodun in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 295,500.00 (€ 24,327.47).
