Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Orang Besar Series: Empires of Privateers and Their Glorious Ventures by Yee I-Lann. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 81,250.00 (€ 8,027.77), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yee I-Lann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kinabalu Series: Huminodun, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 295,500.00 (€ 24,327.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orang Besar Series: Empires of Privateers and Their Glorious Ventures von Yee I-Lann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 8.027,77) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Yee I-Lann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kinabalu Series: Huminodun beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 295.500,00 (€ 24.327,47) versteigert wurde.
