In May last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Offering Flowers by Ye Qianyu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 119,700.00 (€ 14,210.96), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ye Qianyu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Banquet at Highland in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 472,000.00 (€ 57,516.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Offering Flowers von Ye Qianyu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 119.700,00 (€ 14.210,96) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ye Qianyu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Banquet at Highland im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 472.000,00 (€ 57.516,35).
