Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy by Ye Gongchao was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,986.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ye Gongchao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eighteen-Character Couplet In Running Script in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000.00 (€ 27,277.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Ye Gongchao kam im März 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.986,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ye Gongchao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eighteen-Character Couplet In Running Script im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 236.000,00 (€ 27.277,23).
