In March 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy by Ye Gongchao. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,562.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ye Gongchao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eighteen-Character Couplet In Running Script in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000.00 (€ 27,277.23).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy von Ye Gongchao zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.562,52) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ye Gongchao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eighteen-Character Couplet In Running Script im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 236.000,00 (€ 27.277,23).
