In November last year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Estampes & Multiples, which included the work Red Pumpkin, 2015 by Yayoi Kusama. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 956.25 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Estampes & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red Pumpkin, 2015 von Yayoi Kusama zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 956,25 und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
