Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two court attendents watch the year's first sunrise by their carriage by Yashima Gakutei was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,533.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yashima Gakutei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Giant black carp in waterweeds in September last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two court attendents watch the year's first sunrise by their carriage von Yashima Gakutei im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.533,27) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yashima Gakutei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Giant black carp in waterweeds im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65).
