Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Yashima Gakutei was sold in the From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,489.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yashima Gakutei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Giant black carp in waterweeds in September last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).
